Klaipeda

Martynas Mažvydas Sculpture Park in Klaipeda, Lithuania is on the
site of a previous cemetery, laid out in 1977 in honour of the writer
of the first book in the Lithuanian language (1547). Between 1977
and 1991 116 different sculptures were placed in the park and since
the independence of Lithuania have been allowed to remain in place
as a testament to the work and style of artists of the Soviet era.
Most of the sculptures have been carved from granite, including
this one: Walking woman by A. Šnaras (1986)
