Gazetteers

These photographs are interesting to take in a different
way, for the need is to explore the reasons for why a
feature is to be included in a list or gazetteer and to
record key features. Getting too clever about how
the photograph is taken can be counter-productive
and mask the reason the photograph is needed

Gravesend water fountain

The Riverside Leisure Area in Gravesend is a fascinating amalgamation
of areas and histories in a small area, integrating nineteenth-century
reclamation of estuarine sog and seventeenth-century fortifications.
This old water fountain sits unplugged by pipes, but plugged by
modern concrete following a reclamation of its own
