Public art photos

Public art has been commissioned and put in place for
thousands of years, with a view to educate, record,
commemorate or to promote an idea. In the past
few years it has also been used to engage or surprise
the viewer and for this reason it has a value rather
different to that of sculpture, although there is
significant overlap between the two

Little Venice

Sean Henry's Standing Man and Walking Man, connected by their
strip of concrete live on the canal towpath of the Regent's Canal
shortly before Little Venice. Their presence is distinctive, unusual
and the focused energy between them suits the nature of their
location
