Favourites

The reasons for taking any photograph are many and
various and sometimes something about a photograph
can make it one of the photographer's favourites.
Many times it is the memories associated, but occasionally
it can be because something has happened with the
photograph since then

In Oslo, Norway, in the north of the city lies the Vigeland Sculpture
Arrangement in Frognor Park. This incredible park was the result
of nearly 40 years of work (1906-1947) by the sculptor Gustav Vigeland.
A mix of granite and bronze sculpture in several groupings the inspiration
is the human condition and while all of the sculptures are naked,
their representation is rarely if ever titillating and almost always
honest and compassionate. It is fascinating to witness the response
in children and adults alike
